ISC Food Programs (Goal: $5,000)
This fund was established to feed hungry people within our own Conference. Two-hundred dollars is needed each month to keep our present commitments. Any additional funds enable us to respond to emergency requests from local pantries as well as helping to establish and maintain community gardens. To learn more about how we can help, contact Margie Lindhorst at 618-281-4090 or by email.
The Ecuador Project: Lisa's Angels Garden (Goal $1,500)
The new Lisa's Angels Childcare Center is located within the community of Romerillo's, Cotopaxi Province in Ecuador. Behind the center is vacant land which parents of the children and their teachers want to cultivate in order to grow vegetables for the children and possibly raise some small farm animals for food and milk. The objective of the project is to develop a sustainable food source for the children. This is a perfect Sunday School or Bible School Project.
Grain Disaster Relief Project: Church World Service (No specific goal)
All gifts given to this project will go to Disaster Relief. All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Appalachia: The Seeds of Change Initiative
Heifer International (Goal: $2,000)
We will work to build sustainable food programs in some of the poorest areas in our country, southern Appalachia and the Arkansas Delta. Working with our partner, Heifer International, through community coalitions, we will stress food access for all with a particular concern for people of limited means.
Tanzania Sweet Potato Project
Church World Service (Goal: $2,000)
The sweet potato is an important food security crop in many of the poorest regions of the world. It is the world's seventh most important staple crop. 95% of total poduction is in developing countries. Our goal is to reduce malnutrition and poverty among small scale farmers by improving food security for these resource-poor groups.
