Whether it is a retirement or a pastor takes a new call, transitions in the local church can be anxious times. However, our churches are not alone. Our Conference staff accompanies our local churches in securing pulpit supply and interim leadership and in searching for and calling their next settled pastor.
Where a congregation needs only worship leadership, a pulpit supply pastor or lay speaker may be contracted for one or more consecutive weeks. Our suggested honorarium for one worship service is $200, plus travel expenses (at current IRS mileage reimbursement rate). It is also suggested to offer more in the honorarium if the church has more than one worship service.
Supply Pastors – Clergy:

*Please note-Lay speakers should not be used for consecutive Sundays or long term pulpit fill. Only ordained clergy can administer the sacraments.
